Mr. Mike Oliveri

Mike Oliveri began training with the Academy of Okinawan Karate in 2007 at our Eureka dojo. He rose through the ranks in Eureka, is one of two black belts to be promoted as a Eureka student, and is currently Eureka's only Nidan, or 2nd-degree black belt. Sensei Oliveri has fifteen years of experience in K-12 education, and he was appointed head instructor of the Eureka dojo in January of 2015.

2007 - Starts training with the Academy of Okinawan Karate in Eureka

2008 - Wins Best Attendance and Best Assistant Instructor Awards for Eureka Dojo

2009 - Wins Best Attendance Award, Eureka Dojo

2010 - Travels to Hawai’i with Shihan Joseph Walker and AOK students and trains with Shiroma Sensei
         - Promoted to Ikkyu (1st degree brown belt)
         - Wins Best Attendance Award, Eureka Dojo

2011 - First invited to attend the International Shuri-ryu Association Seminar in Fort Wayne, IN

2013 - Promoted to Shodan under Sensei Trent Miller

2015 - Appointed Sensei of Eureka Dojo
         - Places second in Men’s Black Belt Kata Division, AOK Tournament (first appearance as black belt)
         - Promoted to Nidan under Sensei Joey Johnston
         - First invited to attend the ISA Kobudo Seminar in Fort Wayne, IN
